Northside Hospital's Baby Alumni Birthday Party Rocks Zoo Atlanta

On Saturday, June 2, 2007, light-hearted dance tunes filled the air and set the tone as Northside Hospital hosted its 18th annual Baby Alumni Birthday Party at Zoo Atlanta.  More than 3,500 people attended the event, which celebrated all babies ever born at Northside Hospital-Atlanta and Northside Hospital-Cherokee.

Light rain in the late afternoon did not stop the crowds from lining up an hour before the gates opened. Once inside the park, the Northside alumni, families and friends danced the night away with a live disc jockey, who played music favorites, hosted contests and gave away prizes.

Children had the opportunity to meet Northside's Sammy the Stork and Plato the Publixaurus.  They could also enjoy themselves at the arts and crafts station, face painting station, petting zoo and zoo-themed moonwalk.  People of all ages were delighted and amazed by the works of a magician, a woman on stilts, animal feedings and demonstrations, a silent auction, Publix cookies, Crystal Springs water and more.

"Everyone had a wonderful time,” said Patricia Daniel, community activities coordinator at Northside Hospital.  "This is an event that our patients look forward to with much anticipation every year, and we are very excited about next year's event already.”
